Massage
Caroline O'ConnorCaroline obtained her therapeutic massage training in 2003 in southern Portugal through the Green Mountain Institute of Massage. This school, run by husband and wife team Michael and Judith Jamieson, regularly holds trainings in southern Vermont, and each winter has an intensive training in Luz, Portugal.  Their training includes delivering a full body Swedish massage, with elements of deep tissue, polarity and pressure point therapy.

Caroline’s massage style is an integrative approach, incorporating some or all of these techniques, depending on the person and their body’s needs. It is simultaneously deeply relaxing and rejuvenating, and clients often claim to be much more grounded afterwards. Caroline focuses first and foremost on being present with each individual, allowing her hands and intuitive nature to guide her in her work.

Caroline offers 60-, 75-, or 90-minute sessions, and occasionally 30 minutes. Gift certificates are available, which can be picked up in person or mailed to you.

Caroline’s beautiful massage studio is located at 269 Pearl St, a true tranquil space for relaxation and revitalization. There is a heated table for the colder months, and also hot stone massage on request. There is plenty of parking on the west side of the building.

To schedule an appointment, please email Caroline or call her at (802) 373-4422.

Music

Caroline O'ConnorCaroline has been playing music since age 10, beginning with the alto saxophone. She took piano lessons for a few years in junior high, and in recent years has begun playing piano again. She played saxophone in her school band throughout high school and college. Caroline studied music at the University of Vermont from 1998-2001, mainly classical and jazz saxophone. In 2004 Caroline began singing and learning guitar.

Caroline’s musical style is greatly varied. She incorporates many genres and instruments into her music, sometimes playing solo and also collaborating with others. Elements of pop, blues, rock, soul, country, and jazz can be heard in her different songs. During her solo shows, she performs original songs on guitar, piano, and voice, also playing harmonica on a few tunes.

Caroline currently is involved with a rotating mix of musical projects. She plays saxophone and sings in Tapis Bleu, an ambient, avant-garde electronic project with multi-instrumentalist Sean Altrui. Loops and samples are used to create several layers of sound, with structure as well as improvisation.
Caroline also collaborates with drummer and multi-instrumentalist Jarmac T. Harvys. In this project, they perform her original songs, with Caroline on guitar and a touch of bass guitar.

Caroline O'ConnorCaroline is a part-time member of Burlington folk outfit The Dwellers, led by Gabrielle Douglas.

Caroline played saxophone in the Spiel Palast Band, Vermont's own vaudeville cabaret show, in the 2007 and 2008 seasons. This band's music consisted of original songs and some popular show tunes from the 1920's and 1930's.
